Within seven hours, the number of sign-ups had doubled to 10 million. It grew exponentially until it reached 100 million in just a few days. But most observers have mentioned that there may be many people on the app, but they aren’t saying much. As of July 31st, the daily active users have been down 82% since the release of the app. It’ll take a while to become a bona fide source of global information, possibly taking on the role of its chief competitor.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it for your business. The better the posts become, the faster the platform will take off, so you might as well get on board. It’s “no harm, no foul” at this point. Threads is expected to have a feature soon to make it very useful for cross-posting. It is planning to be compatible with ActivityPub, the open-social networking protocol established by the World Wide Web Consortium Threads will then work smoothly with other ActivityPub-compatible apps, including WordPress. Another feature is the control you have over your audience. A public profile means more people can see your message, while a private profile means you have to approve new followers, and both have applications depending on your business.
