Racing Through Summer: Saratoga Springs with Our Thoroughbred Partners

That’s why Teona drove her RV up to Saratoga Springs for the entire month of July to spend it with Jena Antonucci and the team at horseOlogy.

Visiting Saratoga

Saratoga Springs, nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks in upstate New York, is renowned for its charming blend of historic elegance and vibrant modern culture. Famous for its mineral springs and picturesque downtown, Saratoga Springs truly comes alive during the summer when the Saratoga Race Course, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious thoroughbred racetracks, opens its gates. The energy in the city is palpable as visitors from all over the world flock to witness the exhilarating races, from seasoned bettors to families enjoying a day out. The racecourse is a beautiful blend of tradition and excitement, with its grandstands echoing with cheers, the thunder of hooves, and the vibrant atmosphere filling the air, making Saratoga Springs a must-visit destination for any racing enthusiast.

Jena Antonucci Racing

While there, Teona watched several races with trainer Jena Antonucci. Not every race is a win, but when that horse comes thundering down the track, and across the finish line first, the excitement from the team is visible in the air. Jumping and screaming are hallmarks of Jena’s observation style, which rubs off on the owners and the people around her. You can’t stand idly by when Jena is that excited.

Events, Fundraising, and Summits

Of course, it’s not just about racing when the team is in Saratoga. Teona worked with Jena to ensure she was present at several events around the area in July. She participated in an event with ReRun, an organization for New York’s off-track thoroughbreds. She also presented at the Racing Museum and Hall of Fame’s Trivia Night. Of course, Jena also had to participate in the Horse Racing Women’s Summit. And, just for fun, she walked the runway in the Racing and Roses Fashion Show. It was a busy time but so much fun.

Fasig-Tipton Sale

Teona also spent time with the horseOlogy team at the Fasig-Tipton yearling sale in New York. She’s participated in OBS and Keeneland sales before, but it’s always great for us to get a behind-the-scenes look at what our clients do. These sales are busy days with lots of walking, but seeing our marketing at work and our client’s dedication come together is so rewarding.
