Happy Earth Day from dpeg Marketing Company

by | Apr 17, 2023

This Saturday, April 22nd, is Earth Day. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970. It has since grown into a global movement, with millions participating in community clean-ups, tree plantings, and educational events. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of caring for the planet and encourages individuals, organizations, and governments to take action to reduce their environmental impact.

As a company dedicated to earth-based businesses, such as equine, sustainable building, or even brewing, we want to honor Earth Day this year and always keep a commitment to the environment in mind.

Here are a few ways you can celebrate Earth Day this year.

Plant a Tree

My husband’s birthday was in early April. This year I bought him a fig tree because he loves figs. We will plant it soon; it’s a great way to honor Earth Day. Trees are essential for our planet as they help absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. My favorite place to buy trees locally is Jesse Israel.

Participate in a Community Clean-up

No matter where you are in the country, there are community events to clean up rivers, parks, or other areas often littered throughout the year. It’s an excellent way to reduce pollution and volunteer with your community. Find community clean-up events in your area here.

Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

When Earth Day began, recycling wasn’t as much a part of our daily lives as it is now. Many of us today participate in regular recycling programs. If your community doesn’t offer recycling as part of your waste management, check out where you can drop off your recycling. And don’t forget that investing in reusable items will also keep things out of landfills.

Switch to Eco-Friendly Products

As consumers, we have so many choices today. You can swap your everyday products for eco-friendly alternatives. Switch to reusable bags when picking up your groceries. Invest in a good water bottle. Use cloth napkins at home to limit single-use products. Several environmentally friendly cleaning products are also available that reduce your reliance on harsh chemicals.

Educate Yourself and Others

Now is also the perfect time to learn more about environmental issues and pass that knowledge on to others. More of us are aware of climate change’s effects on the environment and how to reduce negative consequences. Share information on social media or volunteer for an organization in your area.
